Dyson Fan has blades

I was watching this Dyson commercial for a new kind of fan that looks like a circle and has no blades but yet it emits a steady stream of air??? How in the hell does that work? The guy literally put his hand through it!!! Could you please help me figure this out??? Thanks!

Yes. I own one and it works nicely. It is virtually noise free which is nice if you like a fan on you at night. It is quite expensive but very cool. There is an adjustment for speed and swivel. You are also able to tilt the fan up and down as well.

I was wondering if it is legal as dyson might have patented the design in Uk, So is it legal or not?
